What Is Cottagecore Style Home Décor?
The Cottagecore home décor style is a 2018-ish mutation from a 90’s décor style called Shabby Chic. While Cottagecore has its roots in Shabby Chic, you also find visible traces of French Country, English Country, and Farmhouse. The concept behind the style is to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life by creating the coziness of country.
Think of it as an inviting, lived-in space that is a bit cluttered from having been salted with one-of-a-kind homemade items and coordinated finds from other décor styles. Pastel colors, rustic finishes, and vintage furniture are commonplace in Cottagecore decorating.
